L&RLCGAThe annual match against the Society of Leicestershire and Rutland Golf Captains took place as usual, at Beedles Lake Golf Club. The weather was cool and somewhat unpleasant and at one point a thunder and lightning storm surrounded us. The siren sounded to bring us all in however, the storm passed and we were able to complete our competitive matches.
The meal afterwards was excellent and thanks go to the staff at Beedles Lake for hosting the event yet again and making us all feel so welcome. Thanks also to Lynda Bramley for the great organisation, to Mary Jarvis for finding 24 ladies and to Lynda and Glyn Bramley for donating the nearest the pin prizes.
Our ladies fought hard and we were again victorious winning by 9 matches to 3, that is 3 wins in the last 3 years.
The members of SLRGC are all such good company and this match is a fitting end to our golf season. The ladies really look forward to this match, regardless of the result. It is a firm favourite in our schedule of events.
