2024 President's Day 26th June at Radcliffe on Trent GC

The flag billowed proudly over the golf course on a beautiful sunny day, my President’s Day had started.

The course looked immaculate, and Ryan the professional was very helpful

17 clubs were represented, and 68 ladies played an AM AM competition with 2 scores to count on each hole and players receiving  85% handicap allowance.

There were 2 nearest the pins, silver, for handicap of 20 and below on the 17th hole and bronze, for handicaps of 21 and above on the 6th hole. Course handicaps were used to determine whether the ladies were silver or bronze.

I had the pleasure of starting the ladies and the time just flew by and it wasn’t long before the first one’s were starting to come in.

The buffet that followed was delicious and plentiful, constantly being refreshed so that no one went home hungry. The staff were very attentive and worked very hard.

The results were:

1st  place and winners of the President’s Quaich's were Anne Bancroft & Mandy Clarke of Hinckley playing with Jacqui Knight of Lutterworth & Jo Pepper of Cosby with a magnificent score of 87

2nd place Sheila Major & Elaine Holloway of Kilworth Springs playing with Trish Formoy & Julia Holley of Kibworth with a score of 82

3rd place Frances Rowlands & Cheryl McGann of Kibworth playing with Sue McHugh of Longcliffe & Pauline Dignan of Lingdale with a score of 80 (OCB)

Nearest the pin on the 17th Jane Thorpe of Kibworth and on the 6th Ann Bancroft of Hinckley

Thank you to all the players who supported this event we hope that you all enjoyed your day.

President Pam Hall

2024 Spring Meeting at Cosby GC

The Spring Meeting was held at Cosby golf course on Monday 22nd April when 31 teams competed in a 3 Ball Alliance for the Wendy Johnson Trophy.

It rained for most of the day, easing up a little in the afternoon but the competition went ahead as it had been dry for a few days prior to this event taking place. Conditions were difficult with the course playing very long but the ladies braved the weather and wet conditions mostly with a smile and good humour that have come to define our hardy past and current captains.

The raffle was very popular raising much needed funds for the County Junior Girls. Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets on the day. The table looked magnificent as you can see from the photograph attached.

The staff at Cosby were very helpful and welcoming throughout the day.

Thank you to everyone who supported this event.

AGM & Luncheon at Devonshire Place held February 2024

We were delighted to welcome 150 ladies to the 51st AGM & luncheon held at Devonshire Place on 8th February 2024.

President Pam Hall and Vice-President Julia Dunkley welcomed ladies as they arrived. Ladies were able to purchase or order merchandising on the day and meet with friends made through the Association, at this first event of the year.

There was a choice menu again this year which everyone agreed were delicious receiving many compliments from  attendees.

The AGM started a little later than planned but was finished within 30 minutes and was informative but also light-hearted. There were cheers for winners of the competitions and laughter as ladies enjoyed inputs right through to the Vote of Thanks given by Jenny Martin.

The support received is really appreciated and we are most grateful to the Club Representatives who liaise with members of the Association on our behalf.

We hope that you all enjoyed your day as much as the Council did. We look forward to being able to welcome everyone attending our events and matches throughout 2024.
