President's Day at Stoke Rochford Thursday 25th June 2026 Cancelled

There has been a red weather warning in place for this week with temperatures exceeding 30°C .

It is with regret, due to the extreme weather forecast on Thursday that we have made the difficult decision to cancel President’s Day at Stoke Rochford golf club.

Several players had already withdrawn, and many ladies had expressed concerns about playing through the heat of the day.

We had paid Stoke Rochford in advance for this event however our President Julia Dunkley has liaised with the club and negotiated a substantial refund for the day. The refund was not for the full amount as the food had already been acquired on our behalf but there will be a payment that will be refunded to players in due course.

Julia has contacted every player to let them know in advance that this event has been cancelled.

Our President and the other members of the Council are so disappointed that the event will not now take place, but this is the best outcome that we could have wished for given the circumstances.

2026 Spring Meeting at Willesley Park

69 ladies took part at Willesley Park on 30 April on a warm spring day. There was a lovely friendly atmosphere in the clubhouse with ladies meeting to catch up with golfing and other news. The President sent her thanks go to everyone that helped on the day and especially Beverly Roebuck who organised the day. We are also very grateful to Jayne Mansfield and the team at Willesley Park for their help and support.

The raffle raised a net profit of £150, and my thanks go to Jan who purchased the raffles prizes and sold tickets on the day.

Thank you to the players who supported the event, we hope that you all enjoyed your day.

2026 AGM & Luncheon

The AGM & Luncheon held at Devonshire Place on Thursday 5th February 2026 was well attended by 133 ladies, in eager anticipation of meeting up with good friends.

Ladies enjoyed a drink in the Holmes bar before taking their seats for a very tasty two course meal. This was served piping hot and in an efficient manner.

Having enjoyed their meals the business of the AGM started on time at 2.00pm, After presenting the reports, electing the Officers and Council members, presenting trophies to the winners of the major events and taking of photographs, there being no Other Business the meeting closed at 2.40pm.

There was much chatter throughout the day as ladies greeted friends and acquaintances and looked forward to meeting up again at events held during the coming year.

We wish everyone good health and happy golfing in 2026

2025 Bridge Luncheon 6th November at The Leicester

48 players took part in the bridge luncheon held at The Leicestershire golf club.

This year players arrived at 10.00am for tea or coffee.  Bridge was played in the morning from 10.30am, finishing  at 1.00pm. Lunch was then served and was of an excellent standard with the chef and staff receiving many compliments. Players were able to leave after they had finished lunch enabling people to leave a little earlier than in previous years.

This new format for the day seemed to be popular with participants.

The winner was Ruth Sinclair of Beedles Lake with 2300 points. The full results are posted under Trophy Events/results.

The President thanked Mary Jarvis and Sheila Plant for organising the event and Pat Keats, Director of Bridge on the day.

Thanks also to the staff and members of The Leicestershire for their warm welcome and for hosting this event and to all the players who supported  the Bridge Luncheon this year.

The raffle was very well supported and raised an impressive £184 in support of the County Junior Girls.
