Trophy Events
There are three golf trophy events held each year:
The Spring Meeting is played as a 3-ball alliance competition at the end of April for the Wendy Johnson Trophy.
The Autumn Meeting is played as a 4-ball better ball competition at the beginning of September for the Rene Shipman Trophy.
These two annual events are hosted on a rotating basis, by clubs located within Leicestershire & Rutland.
President Day is played as an AM AM competition at the end of June at a course usually located outside the counties of Leicestershire & Rutland. The president and vice-president draw pairs to create the teams who play for the President’s Quaich’s. This prestigious event incurs a green fee and usually includes a meal after golf.
There is also a bridge luncheon for golfers and non-golfers held in November at various golf clubs with the counties of Leicestershire & Rutland. Members may bring up to 3 guests (who are not members of the Association) and gentlemen guests are also welcome. A bridge trophy is presented to the winner on the day.
