The Council consists of the following:

  • President (serves for two years)
  • Vice-President (serves for two years)
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • 5 Council members (serve for two years) from different clubs across the county

Two new council members are brought onto the committee one year and three the following year.

2020 and 2021 have been very challenging due to restrictions as a result of the Coronavirus.

Committee meetings were held as Zoom meetings via the internet throughout 2020 when no main events took place. Only the match against SLRGC (Society of Leicestershire & Rutland Golf Captains) and the event for the Lady Captain to introduce her and Vice-Captain were able to be held with the easing of restrictions during the latter part of last year.

Zoom meetings were scheduled again during the first half of 2021 to enable the committee to continue to operate during lockdown and through the worst of the pandemic. The Spring Meeting had to be cancelled but President's Day was able to go ahead in June of 2021 and fortunately with the easing of restrictions the Council was able to finally meet together for the first time in August enabling committee members the chance to get to know each other and to take on normal duties through the latter half of the year.

It has been agreed to allow Council members who would normally step down at the 2022 AGM the opportunity to participate for an extra year should they wish to do so as they have not had the chance to participate for the usual two-year period in office. This will be put to the members at the AGM in February 2022 for approval.
