General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

New data protection regulations were introduced on 25th May 2018. Under GDPR the Council on behalf of the Association confirms that your personal information is stored securely in a password protected database.

The legal basis for the Association holding your personal information is “legitimate interest”. We confirm that your information is only used in order to contact you about:

  • your membership
  • future events
  • matches 
  • other social activities

Personal information is limited to: Name, Address, Phone Numbers, Email Address, Home Golf Club and the Year and Club of Captaincy. This database is managed by the Secretary for the sole purpose of managing the membership and maintaining contact with current members.  

The Association does not hold any sensitive data about individuals.   

The membership details are distributed to the President, Vice-President and Treasurer in order for them to contact members regarding payments, matches, events and other social activities that are planned through the year. Your personal information will not be shared with any other body or person.

The database is updated on an annual basis when the membership is renewed.

Personal data is removed from the database when notification of the death or resignation of a member has been received. You may also request that your personal information is deleted from our files by contacting the Secretary by email or by post. The contact details for all members of the Council are included on your fixture card which are updated and distributed to all members on an annual basis.
