Bridge Drive at Kirby Muxloe on 3rd November 2022

52 players attended the annual bridge drive held at Kirby Muxloe Golf Club.

The winner of the Bridge Trophy was June Green, who was a guest of a player from Beedles Lake    

2nd Place - Pat Darke                                       

First Slam was won by June Green and Janice Evans

Nearest to zero was Di Starforth

Autumn Meeting at Rothley Park on 5th September 2022

88 ladies played in a four ball better ball competition at the Autumn Meeting for the Renee Shipman trophy at Rothley Park GC. 

The winners were:

1st Place – Helen Lowe and Cathryn Hoyland of Scraptoft with 43 points

2nd Place – Sue Ayre and Helen Adams-Brown of Hinckley with 42 points (OCB)

3rd Place – Ann Knight and Andrena Porter of Lutterworth with 42 points (OCB)

4th Place Julia Dunkley and Ruth Palmer of Kibworth with 42 points (OCB)

5th Place Karen Docherty and Sue Rossiter of Lingdale with 40 points (OCB)

6th Place Jo Brown of Scraptoft and Rosie Black of The Leicestershire with 40 points (OCB)

Our thanks are sent to all the staff at Rothley Park for their warm welcome and assistance on the day.

President's Day at Ruddington Grange 23rd April 2022

56 ladies playing in 14 teams competed in the AM AM for the President's Quaiches (cups of friendship) at Ruddington Grange. 

The winners of the were:

1st Place - Margaret Theakston and Yvonne Gilman of Luffenham Heath, Andrena Porter of Lutterworth and Sue Barker of Whetstone with 80 points

2nd Place - Jo Trouve of Charnwood Forest, Trish Formoy and Chris O'Neill of Kibworth and Jacqui Knight of Lutterworth with 79 points (OCB)

3rd Place - Rita Watts of Hinckley, Pam Fox and Lyneve McLoughlin of Lingdale and Doreen Brown of Scraptoft with 79 points (OCB)

Nearest the pins:

8th  hole - Di Jaggard of Lingdale

16th hole - Jenny Piecha of Rothley Park

Spring Meeting at Luffenham Heath 25th April 2022

Thirty-one teams played in the 3 Ball Alliance at Luffenham Heath for the Wendy Johnson trophy.

The winners were:

1st Place -  Julie Dawson, Anna Taylor and Diane Wood of Kirby Muxloe with 84 points

2nd Place - Doreen Brown, Gail Neill and Loraine Washington of Scraptoft with 80 points

3rd Place - Suzanne Gee, Ross Hecks and Cheryl McGann of Kibworth with 79 points

4th Place - Fiona Johnson and Alison Seddon of Longcliffe and Jane Horwood of Stanton-on-the-Wolds with 79 points (OCB)

5th Place - Marion Overlunde, Sue Pallet and Sue Pritchard of Lingdale with 78 points

Nearest the pin on the 9th hole - Doreen Brown of Scraptoft

Nearest the pin on the 17th hole - Margaret Weston of Beedles Lake

News Item

Our annual Bridge Drive was held at Birstall Golf Club which 44 Ladies attended and it was wonderful to see friends meeting up and enjoying each other’s company after last year’s cancellation due to Covid.

The day started with coffee and Bridge commenced at 11am after our President, Helen Buckingham, had read out a brilliant poem she had written.

An excellent score of +3470 by Chris Massie of Kirby Muxloe won the trophy and 1st prize

2nd Janet Scarratt, a guest of Hinckley, +3030

3rd Jane Jennings a guest of Hinckley +2550

Nearest to zero Elaine Edwards of Hinckley -50

My thanks go to Jude Stevenson of Birstall Golf Club who was Director of Bridge, who helped us on the day.

The raffle raised an amazing £156 for the junior girls

Thank you to Birstall golf Club and their chef and his staff for producing an excellent lunch & service.

Finally on behalf of our Lady President, Helen and the committee thank you all the members and staff at Birstall for making us so welcome and to the ladies who attended.
